WHO WE ARE

LifeCare Africa Foundation is a not-for-profit organization working in Zimbabwe, focusing on alleviating poverty and social injustice in children. We do this through well planned and comprehensive projects in health, education, livelihoods and provision of basic needs. Our overall goal is the empowerment of children from poor and marginalised communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.

OUR VISION:

To fill the gap, create conducive environment for physical and mental growth and provide basic needs to children since they are the basis upon which a society hopes to survive into the future.

MISSION STATEMENT:

We seek to empower children and the society in reduction of social ills and vulnerability as a result of lack of access to basic needs.

REASON FOR EXISTENCE:

LifeCare Africa Foundation’s mandate in society is to mobilise resources, support, facilitate and assist in bettering the lives of children through the provision of basic needs such as physical and mental health care, quality education, food, nutrition, safe drinking water, sanitation, shelter, security, clothes, safe environment and advocacy so as to ensure their decent live-hood

OUR APPROACH

LifeCare Africa Foundation’s approach in its programs is to move from the traditional approach of direct service provision to enabling poor and vulnerable groups in order to address underlying causes of poverty. Our focus is explicitly on the well-being, social position and rights of children starting with those from marginalised communities. LifeCare Africa Foundation focuses on developing the potential of children through provision of basic needs to drive long lasting equitable changes. We strategically emphasise on promoting quality healthcare, inclusive education, gender equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Our efforts are focused to fight against underlying causes of poverty, building secure and resilient communities and ensuring a life of dignity for all children from the most marginalised and vulnerable communities As we move ahead our key programming approach will continue to include social analysis and action, gender transformative value chain approaches, leadership and life skills strengthening, building capacities and leadership roles at multiple levels, advocacy on national and international platforms and facilitating links and dialogues between public, private and civil society
